Founded in 1993, the Department of Tourism is one of the earliest-established tourism departments in Anhui Province. It offers three undergraduate specialties, i.e., Tourism Management, Hospitality Management and Human Geography, Urban and Rural Planning, and one college degree program, Tourism Management (Sino- Korean 1.5+1.5 program). The department now has more than 1000 enrolled students and a faculty of 34, including 13 professors and associate professors, 1 Provincial Outstanding Teacher, and more than 10 foreign visiting professors.

The aim of the Undergraduate (Bachelor’s Degree) Program of Tourism Management for International Students is to cultivate advanced cross-cultural specialists in Tourism Management who would have the systematic and solid professional knowledge, comprehensive and skilled language skills, and can participate in and promote the friendly relationships and cooperation between China and their home-country.

With the approval of the Chinese Ministry of Education, takes a unique approach to international education that combines, encourages and develops the teachings of its two founding institutions: Huangshan University, China and VATEL International Business School Hotel & Tourism Management, France.

This major trains people with modern tourism management theory and professional knowledge, innovative awareness, strong professional skills and comprehensive qualities, and can be engaged in management, research and teaching in tourism administration departments at all levels, tourism enterprises, tourism research and teaching departments Applied and compound professionals.

This major aims to cultivate and master the basic theories, specialized knowledge and professional skills of modern tourism management, master the abilities and skills in tourism resource planning and design, tourism project planning, tourism management, marketing, etc., possess a global tourism thinking, cross-cultural international vision and Innovative spirit, applied and compound senior professionals who can engage in tourism-related operations, management, planning, planning, consulting, and training.

Tourism Management and Service Education Major: This major is a specialty with special advantages that our college will focus on. The professional construction has the longest history. As early as 2006, the professional tourism management specialty was opened, and nearly 300 graduates have been trained. The undergraduate major of tourism management and service education was enrolled nationwide in September 2018, and there are currently 10 full-time teachers.

The Tourism College of Wuyi University has a young and innovative team. School of Tourism has three undergraduate programs; Tourism Management, Hotel Management, and Management of Cultural Industry. The undergraduate program of Tourism Management in the college is a key subject in Fujian province and a featured subject of the Fujian Innovative & Experimental Base for Training Practical Talents and Wuyi University. Several Teaching Quality Projects such as the Fujian Master Teachers, the Fujian Teaching Team of Hotel Management, the Quality Course of Provincial Tourism Planning, the University Teaching Team, the University Quality Course, and the University key Course are in progress in the college. The goal is to cultivate practical talents that are developed in Morality, Intelligence, Physique, and Art, with professional knowledge in tourism management, and able to work in the operation and management positions of tourism administration departments and tourism enterprises.

Bachelor of Tourism Management

The TourismManagement Program with specialization in tourism services management and international tour guides has eight full-time faculty members, with three professors and two associate professors. The Program has an internship studio and a simulated travel services company named Hera, which is run independently by the students. In addition to classroom lectures, the Program provides students with opportunities for on-site learning and global travel promotion training. IT-based information management systems for travel agencies and hotels are being introduced to the Program. The student exchange program in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire (UClan) in Britain allows students to have an enriching international learning experience. Faculty members also involve students in their research projects based on students' specific academic interests to advance their research skills and broaden their horizons. The students have received many prizes, awards, and honors, such as the Grand Prize in the National EnglishContest and the Third Prize in the Challenge Cup of the NationalEntrepreneurial Design Competition contested by university students nationwide. The Program strives to become a preeminent think tank providing expert policy advice to tourism authorities in Shanghai and beyond. Graduates from the Tourism Management Program have good employment prospects, and some choose to further their studies in domestic and overseas universities, for example, in 2011, many students have admitted to master's programs in renowned universities such as BeijingUniversity, Fudan University, Shanghai University of Finance andEconomics, University of Central Lancashire, and Swiss HotelManagement School.
