The master's degree programme is tailored for students who are interested in the environment, agriculture, food production and food quality and who are curious about how to manage food production activities in a sustainable way. Food production faces new challenges towards greater sustainability. There is a huge consumer pressure towards food quality and safety, improved public health and reduced environmental impacts. Commitments of the EU towards carbon free economics and the new Farm to Fork Strategy suggest coming changes in the food markets and our dietary patterns towards plant-based foods.

The Landscape Planning programme aims to sufficiently prepare graduates to be competitive in the international job market. The field of study is therefore strongly oriented toward the acquisition of practical skills, wherein the professional staff of the faculty, including foreign scientific researchers, will share their current knowledge in the field of landscape planning, landscape ecology and landscape architecture with you.

The Bachelor study programme Forestry, specialization in Forest Ecosystems Protection and Silviculture can be studied full-time or part-time. The three-year study provides a comprehensive education in biological, ecological, and technical subjects. The aim is to provide all students with broad theoretical knowledge regarding all the functions of forest ecosystems, their interconnectedness and their importance within 21st-century society. Also, the role of society in the management of natural resources and the use of these natural resources, including the role of forestry in the so-called bioeconomy, with the strong social aspect of sustainable use of forest ecosystems.

The MSc course is intended to provide students with a detailed understanding of the sustainability of agriculture and food production. The students will be able to determine key characteristics and processes in agricultural systems, and critically evaluate the production, environmental, and social aspects.

Natural Resources Management and Ecological Engineering (NARMEE) is a new joint degree programme which is taught in cooperation with University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna (BOKU), Austria.

This BSc program provides a theoretical background focusing on the sustainable use of natural resources and the protection of the environment. Emphasis is given to the understanding of the interaction between components of the biosphere, agriculture, horticulture, and landscape design. Students will obtain a general overview of the economic and legal context of the environment.

The MSc programme offers theoretical and applied knowledge about the sustainable use and management of natural resources (soil, water, and air) and the positive as well as the negative influence of agriculture and forestry on these resources.
