Our Bachelor program Economics and Business Administration, major in Economics was opened in the academic year 2012/2013. We already have our first Alumni, who continue their study at Universities in the Czech Republic and all around Europe.

This program empowers you to explore the nature of economic objectives, social organisation, institutions of power, and the dynamics of conflict and cooperation. You’ll master modern non-conventional economic thinking, and tangible skills to gather and assess data through quantitative and qualitative methodologies. IEPS offers two specialisations: International Economics and International Politics. You can gain employment in supra-national institutions, corporations, political parties, and more.

Bachelor study at the Faculty of Economics, VŠB-TU Ostrava takes three years. It is completed by taking the state bachelor exam and defending the bachelor thesis. Successful graduates are awarded the Bachelor's degree - Bc. After completing the bachelor's degree program in Finance, graduates may continue their studies in the Master's degree program in Finance, or choose from other economic-oriented programs with economic orientation at this level of study.

The Ph.D. program concentrates on economic theory and its applications in economic and financial analyses. The program focuses on the modeling and analyses of economic processes and the behavior of economic agents, using modern microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, econometrics, and finance. The doctoral program aims to prepare highly qualified and trained experts for academia, international organizations, the financial sector as well as other industries.

It is supposed that the graduate masters the theoretical foundations of the study area, the basic methods of scientific work in the field of study and the basic forms of permanent collection of worldwide knowledge in the field of study for lifelong learning. Graduates are supposed to be able to design descriptive and normative economic models of economic processes at the macro and microeconomic level and collect relevant documents needed for their formalization. Furthermore, the ability of generalization of scientific knowledge into the form of economic laws is assumed together with their application in the interpretation of specific economic tasks to promote sustainable development.

CSF is a double-degree MA program provided jointly by our university and Sciences Po Strasbourg. You will spend one academic year in each university. The program will provide you with an understanding of corporate finance and strategy and introduces core topics in international macroeconomics, financial markets, banking, advanced data analytical skills and applied econometrics. You can then work in analytical, consulting, managerial positions in companies and in the financial sector in the EU.

The doctoral programme in PhD in Economics welcomes all qualified applicants with Master´s degrees who have a strong interest in economic theory, econometric modelling and applied economics. Graduates will be equipped with advanced knowledge of the history of economics, micro- and macroeconomics, international economics, and economic policy, and also important research skills for becoming a successful researcher.

Master in Economics and Finance (MEF) is a two-year English-language Master's degree program that aims to give students a thorough understanding of theoretical and applied economics and finance. Emphasis is put on developing strong analytical skills that will allow our graduates to solve complex economic problems in various areas. Applicants must have a solid background in Mathematics and a good command of English. Courses are taught both by faculty members of the Institute of Economic Studies (IES) and external professionals from international institutions, central banks, and the financial industry. Graduates typically assume challenging positions in banking, consulting, investment funds, international financial institutions, or they pursue an academic career at respected international universities. Compulsory courses introduce students to advanced topics in macroeconomics, microeconomics, and econometrics. Elective courses cover a wide range of areas in economics and finance and let students specialize in the field of their interest. The topics include applied economics and economic policy (e.g. monetary economics, international macroeconomics, antitrust economics, public economics, health economics, environmental economics, development economics, energy economics, and economics of the EU), banking and finance (banking, financial markets, corporate finance, asset pricing, company valuation, real estate investment, bank asset, and liability management, and financial regulation)), and advanced empirical methods (e.g. macroeconometrics, applied microeconometrics, financial econometrics, data science, and DSGE modeling).

The Bachelor´s degree program in Economics and Management examines issues central to the world we live in: namely how the economy and organisations function, and how resources are allocated and coordinated to achieve the organisation’s objectives. Graduates of the program are provided with basic, general preparation in the economic, corporate, quantitative and legal fields, as well as solid methodological training in the analysis and critical interpretation of economic and corporate dynamics.

The Department of International Relations at UNYP offers a modern curriculum that combines the study of economics and international politics. Our program focuses on providing students with a strong foundation in political, economic, and international relations theory.

The study branch is aimed at students who are interested in the area of economics and management. It is being conceived inter-disciplinarily using the integrated economic and managerial basis, quantitative methods, ICT and the social-science disciplines connected.
