The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) oriented liberal arts are international goals for sustainable development adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2015. At EUH, we aim to train young people to contribute to the establishment of integrated solutions to real-world problems while considering the direction of the 17 SDGs and aiming to contribute to the realization of a sustainable world

The Master of Science in Sustainability programme is a two-year programme, which provides students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to contribute to solving challenges of sustainability. Drawing on an innovative, interdisciplinary approach, the programme integrates methods and resources from the natural and social sciences, as well as the humanities. The programme is intended for recent graduates, professionals and practitioners who seek to meaningfully contribute to the work of governments, civil society, the private sector, and/or the UN and other international organizations in the area of sustainability. The programme builds on UNU’s strong record in research and capacity development, as well as the extensive network of scholars and academic institutions participating in UNU research. The programme is practice-oriented, user-focused, and of the highest academic quality. It provides students with unique opportunities to interact with leading scholars and policymakers through lectures, international conferences, and workshops.

The main research objectives of running the Special Course on Disaster Prevention Study for Asian Students are to understand and elucidate characteristic features of natural disasters in Asia and to develop their preventive measures, while the educational motto stands at producing first-class researchers and technical experts with frontier research capabilities and advanced knowledge in the field of natural disasters.

For the academic year of 2017, the SESAMI Master’s program starts in October and can be completed in one and a half years (i.e., in March in the year after the next). During the first 12 months of the program (i.e., two semesters from October 1 to March 30 and from April 1 to September 30), a series of intensive courses are taught all in English by professors of Kobe University and of those affiliated with universities and research organizations overseas.

Acquire basic infection prevention skills to work as a healthcare professional. In addition, acquire simple technology that is useful for emergency medical care in the event of a disaster.

The Faculty of Agriculture has a department including four courses. We offer students opportunities to learn Synthetic Science, which focuses on Sustainable Crop Production and Conservation of the Natural Environment, and Advanced Science, which focuses on the Elucidation and Application of Bioscience. Currently, we are faced with many serious issues, such as food supply and safety, environment preservation, information society, bioenergy, and the local community, about which you can learn and study in our Faculty.

The art of emulating life: design across biological scales! This course involves an active search and a responsive foresight; it does not involve extracting from nature, it implies learning from it. Human beings are not simply observers of nature, as if we were looking at it from a bubble. We are 100% in nature.
