With the English literature major, you will understand, appreciate, and interpret a historical range of literatures and cultures. Our majors become natural problem solvers, effective communicators, and lucid writers. The Spanish education degree prepares you to teach Spanish to children in grades K–12 at a public or private school. You will be able to teach domestic or international Spanish. This degree also prepares you for further graduate study.

A minor in Chinese goes beyond language study, it opens you up to the world.Spoken by more people on the planet than any other tongue, familiarity with Chinese breaks through the barrier that walls us off from a world of international commerce, politics, literature, art, and—at the risk of sounding a little cliché—a history that runs deeper than Western memory.

The minor in French is designed to provide the student with basic fluency in spoken and written French and to provide a general introduction to the culture and literature of France and the Francophone nations.

Students also study the rich intellectual, literary and cultural history of France and the French-speaking world from the Middle Ages through the present day.
