The BA in Economics and Business offers its students expertise in Business and Economics. It provides them with an ability to demonstrate knowledge of business processes. It allows them to assess industry attractiveness and identify risks and opportunities of doing business in a global environment by choosing and applying appropriate methodologies. It prepares students for careers in business and finance, but can also be relevant for Government and non-Governmental Organisations. In particular, graduates will be able to apply economic analyses within a business context.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accounting and Finance: The PhD is a programme of independent, self-directed academic research degree, supported by a team of supervisors that makes an original contribution to knowledge written up in a publishable dissertation. The PhD programme also supports developing research and generic skills to equip you to operate successfully as a professional researcher in any setting. The essential requirement of a PhD is the creation of new knowledge. Being a researcher means developing new ideas and improving understanding by creating new knowledge.

The programme is an online programme composed of 8 taught modules of 25 credits each, of which five are core modules and three are elective modules relating to a specialist stream, culminating in a research-based dissertation of 40 credits.

A Bachelor of Science in Accounting provides an understanding of perspectives that form the context for business and financial management. The BSc Accounting is a rigorous programme that prepares students for professional accountancy roles and business and public sector management roles. It will equip students with a strong accounting foundation and the necessary accounting skills, as well as teaching the theory and logic behind the use of specific accounting techniques and accounting decision-making. Students are expected to think analytically and to critically evaluate key issues in accounting from a variety of perspectives. They are also expected to apply analytical accounting approaches.

Upon completion of this programme, students should be able to manage issues related to an organisational environment and apply conceptual principles, methods and tools to solve financial problems; identify the increasingly complex nature of the local and global economy and its impact on finance, among others.
