Planning of New Tourism Products and Destination Management is the first and, so far, the only master's degree programme in Romania in tourism, oriented towards innovation and tourism destination management. The new master’s degree study programme taught in English was established in response to a shortage of academic and professional training in Romania in the management of tourist destinations, as well as to satisfy the need to provide tourism skills and competencies worldwide.

This programme was introduced because of our partnerships with the private sector. There is a strongly perceived need for the hospitality industry to develop a master programme in English. We also know that studying in English allows our students to extend their theoretical and practical education in one of our partner universities around the world.

In line with the interdisciplinary higher education system development, the specialization Geography of Tourism aims to train specialists for tourism but also for institutions engaged in teaching and research activities. The originality of this specialization meets certain practical needs, knowing the importance which tourism enjoys currently. In this context, following the structure of the curriculum, graduates have the appropriate training in order to work in tourism.

Through its design, which gives it real applicative valences and interdisciplinary nature, the study program provides, under the currently-organized higher education system, the possibility of preparing specialists, who are able to integrate optimally on the domestic and international labor market. The theoretical and practical subjects that students go through provide them with a significant amount of accumulated knowledge not only in the field of tourism management and planning but also in other related and complementary areas: geographical information systems, cartography, regional and local development, etc.

The mission of the study program "Geography of Tourism" derives from the mission The structure of the University of Wallachia in Targoviste and of the Faculty of Humanities the institutional component of which it is a part, is a didactic and research one.

This program guarantees a high number of specialists in the field of Business Administration, in the entrepreneurial spirit of HR, given the fact that any developing business must offer optimal competitive growth especially in the sphere of trade and tourism.

The mission of this program is to train specialists in the field, in conformity with the requirements of Romania’s integration to the European Union, the changes that arise in the real economy, on the domestic market and inside a globalized frame.
